EARTHEART – IL CUORE DELLA TERRA (THE HEART OF THE EARTH), the heart of the earth (pièce teatrale), is the last step of an articulated project of widespread production, which started with an initial experiential phase of the dancers of EgriBiancoDanza in contact with nature. The performance synthesises the previous phases of EartHeart by projecting them into a new theatrical dimension, evoking, with the aid of avant-garde digital tools, the power of the planet and the wonder of its ecosystems, immersing the dancers in a perpetual flow of dance, images and sound: fascinating, magical, to contemplate and abandon oneself to. Starting from the in situ experiential journey EartHeart, which, as the play on words in English suggests, unites the word heart with the word earth, the EgriBiancoDanza Company, under the guidance of choreographer Raphael Bianco, remodels the experiences lived within different ecosystems, projecting their essence towards the dramaturgical and theatrical dimension of gesture, translating concrete experience into an abstract dimension while preserving the experiential memory. The contact between man and nature is thus emphasised, focusing on the relationship of force that unites these two entities: the Kantian “dynamic sublime” that sees fragile man overwhelmed by the power of nature. The theatrical project enriches the choreographic structure with a strong scenographic and technological component: sound design, video mapping, man-machine interaction, modular and decomposable scenic elements, by the interdisciplinary artistic collective Kokoschka Revival coordinated by theatre director and film maker Ana Shametaj and sound designer Andrea Giomi.
